How To Sell A Small Business

Vending businesses for sale include those started and run by a private individual or partnership and franchises.

How to Select a Vending Business for sale

Location is a huge part of the success of a vending company. Machines placed in high-traffic areas or in places where the client base is captive (such as schools, prisons, and hospitals) are likely to regularly sell product.

Convenience is also important. Pricing items for sale in easily divisible amounts is good. Making items one dollar is better than one dollar and five cents. Machines that break larger bills will do better than those that require exact change.

Selection is also important. Keep abreast of current trends. What foods and beverages are popular right now? The merchandise for sale can be changed out later when the trends change. Try to include an option for an alternative diet, as well, like vegetarian or gluten-free snacks.

Not all vending machine opportunities are a good investment. The FTC did a sweep in the 1990s of vending machine companies and ended up filing complaints against several companies for misleading buyers into believing that they would make a profit. Make sure to investigate the companies first by contacting previous investors and asking them about the company.
